The center of Cuenca has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for the many well-preserved colonial buildings dating from the 16th to 19th centuries. There are many museums to visit that explore various aspects of the growth and development of Cuenca and its surroundings. A strong indigenous presence also adds character to this charming Andean city, making it the perfect place to study Spanish.
And if you have particular interests that you would like to follow while you are in Cuenca we will be happy to arrange visits to alternative sites with a teacher for you.
"What a marvelous city Cuenca is! I had a great time with my teacher (C) visiting so many interesting places. But the best for me was just to sit on a bench in the nearby Parque Calderón and chat away with my teacher as we watched the afternoon go by in Cuenca. Priceless memories!"
