A Weekend Trip to Quilotoa crater lake

Last weekend we went to Quilotoa with a Group of 10 students from Yanapuma. At 7am Saturday morning we left Quito, to arrive 4 hours later in a small town somewhere in the mountains. We arrived in the small community in a hostel and the people there were so nice to us. They were wearing traditional clothes, which are very colorful and beautiful. In the afternoon we went on a hike around the crater, for 3 hours.  We had a beautiful view over the crater and the lake, so this was a good moment to take a lot of pictures.

After the hike we went to a small café where we had a nice hot Canelazo. In the evening we had a nice diner and we drink a lot of tea around the heater in the hostel.
On sunday morning we had a nice hike down to the lake and we went kayaking on the lake, and the weather was beautiful. After kayaking some of us had had a long hike back to the top of the crater, others got back on a donkey or horse. At 2pm we left Quilotoa for the busride back to Quito.
It was a great weekend with Yanapuma at Quilotoa!!
