Hostal Otavalo Huasi (1 and 2)

The Otavalo Huasi 1 Hostel is situated in the heart of the main tourist area of Quito, and is run by Ruben and Alberto who both speak a little English. It is a ten minute walk from the Spanish school. Accommodations are simple and new, and there are en suite single rooms and shared rooms with shared bathroom facilities. There is a kitchen for guests. Room prices for those staying four days or more include a simple breakfast of tea/coffee, bread and butter/jam, fruit salad and juice. It is run by indigenous Otovalans and is decorated and furnished with traditional designs, murals and crafts (see left)

Otavalo Huasi 2 is a newly opened hostal by the same owners, in a quieter part of the district and only a couple of blocks from Yanapuma Spanish School (see right).

Volunteer House

This is a comfortable, backpacker style accommodation in the heart of the "Mariscal" tourist district, close to all the nightlife. There are rooms with private and shared bathrooms, a kitchen, and a mini-apartment. It is a 10 minute walk to the Spanish school.

Rincon Escandinavo Hotel

This is a comfortable, clean hotel located on a quiet street on the very edge of the main tourist area of Quito. The hotel has its own restaurant. It is only 3 minutes walk to restaurants, bars, nightclubs and shops, and only 5 minutes walk to our Spanish school. All rooms are en-suite and have TVs, and there is room service available.

Hotel San Francisco de Quito

Located in Quito's Colonial downtown, considered the largest and best preserved architectural space in the Americas, this hotel is situated in a carefully restored 17th century colonial house. All rooms are recently renovated, and offer private bathroom, TV, telephone and permanent hot water. A common room in the hotel has cable TV, free wireless internet, and comfortable couches. The hotel also offers a cafeteria, jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath, laundry service, fax, safety boxes and luggage storage. Suites with kitchen are available.

Casa Helbling

The Casa Helbling is a new hostel, dirctly across the street from Yanapuma's Spanish school. It is clean and comfortable with free wireless network, and washing machine and dryer you can use. Their cafeteria offers breakfasts and there is also a kitchen you can use. The following room prices are without breakfast and do not include 12% sales tax.
