For students wanting to make the most of their Spanish study, we suggest a homestay for your accommodation here in Quito. Staying with an Ecuadorian host family gives you the chance to practice Spanish and learn more about daily life in Ecuador. Yanapuma also offers hostal and hotel accommodation in single room and shared rooms to its students and volunteers, both short-term and long-term. Offerings range from basic to mid-range in price and quality. For longer term students, we also offer accommodations in an apartment. |

About our Homestays:Yanapuma provides homestays with carefully screened local families. You can have either 2 or 3 meals per day with your family, but be aware that sometimes returning to your homestay for lunch can interfere with plans, visits, or your ability to lunch with new friends on the spur of the moment. Prices for our homestays are $16.00 per night with 2 meals (breakfast and dinner) included. Here are descriptions of some of the families that we recommend

It is an ideal location for those volunteering in Camp Hope which is further to the north of the city. It is a 25 minute bus ride and 5 minute walk to the school. |

The R Family offers 3 rooms for students in her large house in a secure neighborhood with great views. Though located on the edge of the city of Quito, it is only a 20 minute walk from our office (Quito is a very long and narrow city, bounded on one side by high mountains and on the other by a steep valley, on the edge of which sits the Rivera house). She lives with her two daughters. There are many restaurants and bars nearby, and it is close to “Ocho y Medio,” an alternative film theater that shows many interesting films in both English, Spanish, and other languages. |
